Dave graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 1981 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and began his career in San Francisco at the firm of HOK, then the largest architecture and engineering firm in the world. His first five years saw him working intimately with project designers on high rise office buildings, airports, convention centers, hotels, and town centers around the world before becoming a project designer himself for two more years. He then spent a year at MBT designing medical and industrial projects before venturing out on his own and into the world of single family residential architecture.

Dave spent five years as a Planning Commissioner for the town of San Anselmo. Over the 40+ years of his career, he has designed projects in every jurisdiction in Marin County in addition to the counties of Sonoma, Napa, and San Francisco.

Dave has worked in BIM (Building Information Modeling) since 1990, the 3D computer based design and production platform–a powerful tool for architectural design and visualization. Clients benefit from the ability to "see" their projects in 3D renderings from any possible viewpoint–exterior and interior–as well as having the ability to navigate through it in real time on their own computer, tablet, and smart phone.

Maureen graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 1981 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and began her career in San Francisco at the firm of Pike/Gentry Assoc. Stints at BAR, RMW, and TWM gave her a wide breadth of experience ranging from commercial tenant development to single- and multi-family residential projects, live performance theater, health care facilities, and high-rise office buildings.

In 1989 she joined her husband to form Jochum Architects. Since then, they have designed more than 300 custom residential projects primarily in Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and San Francisco counties, but also through out the SF Bay Area and Lake Tahoe.
