Tiburon Perch

Perched atop the Tiburon ridge, this property enjoys 360º views of San Francisco Bay, Belvedere, and Tiburon. The original kitchen opened to a family room which did not serve the current owners well, preferring an additional large dining space.

The new kitchen includes two large islands. The outer one, adjacent to the new dining area, is flanked by large columns into which folding doors recess–above the island countertop and between each column and the outer walls. This allows the kitchen to be completely isolated from the dining area for catered events.

All cabinetry, the island columns, fireplace surround, and wall trim is Honduran mahogony. The pine ceiling and fir beams had been stained dark chocolate brown. Sandblasting returned them to their natural finish.
